Where does one return products for repair or replacement?
The first step must be to ensure that the firearm is completely unloaded by visually and physically checking. It is both dangerous and illegal to ship a loaded rifle through the mail and you should call Stoeger Airguns for assistance if the gun cannot be completely unloaded for any reason prior to shipping. Put your firearm in the original box, if you still have it. (If you do not have the original box, it is best to ship the gun disassembled in a hard gun case.) Before sending the box, you must first obtain a Return Authorization (RA) Number. To obtain an RA Number, call the Stoeger Airguns Customer Service Department at (301) 283-6300 from 8:00 a.m. till 5:00 p.m. EST, Monday through Friday. The RA Number must appear on the outside of the box. Put a letter in the box describing the problem you are having. Be sure to include your name, address, and daytime phone number. Insure the package for the replacement value of the gun and ship the package to the address below:

How long is the turnaround time for repairs?
Turnaround time for repairs varies from 4 to 6 weeks.
Where can I get a manual for my Stoeger Airguns rifle?
You may print a copy of the manual from this website (usa.stoegerairguns.com). Or, if you are having difficulties printing, contact Stoeger Airguns at (301) 283-6300.
Optics
What scope(s) are recommended for the Stoeger Airguns?
Any quality airgun scope can be used. We recommend the Stoeger “Blue Ring” line of quality scopes. They can be found at usa.stoegerairguns.com.
How wide are the bases used on Stoeger Airgun rifles?
3/8 inch or 11 mm.
What is the notch on the top of the receiver and what is it for?
The notch on the top of the receiver is the scope stop, used for added scope support and to stop scope slippage.
Ammunitions
Can BBs be used in Stoeger Airgun rifles?
No. Stoeger Airgun rifles are designed to accept only quality factory pellets.
Can multiple pellets be loaded in Stoeger Airgun rifles?
No. NEVER try to insert multiple pellets in the barrel of any Stoeger Airgun rifle, as this can be dangerous and can cause malfunctions in your rifle.
Can pellets be placed in the barrel of my air rifle in any direction?
No. Pellets should be placed in your air rifle with the skirt towards the butt of the gun.
Can I use a pellet of a different caliber in my rifle?
No. NEVER use a pellet of a different caliber than the caliber of your rifle. Always use the caliber stamped on your rifle.
Can I reuse a pellet that was lodged in my rifle?
No. You must not use any pellet that was lodged in your rifle. All pellets should be used only once.
How do I make sure my rifle is completely empty?
To make sure your rifle is completely empty, use a cleaning rod to ensure no pellets are lodged in the barrel.
Barrels
How often should the rifle barrel be cleaned?
The rifle should be cleaned as often as needed to maintain proper performance.
Can I use gun solvents and gun oils to clean my air rifle?
NO! The seals can be damaged by the solvents and even by many oils. Use only airgun-rated oils for the care of your air rifle.
Does the muzzle break suppress noise?
No. The muzzle break is not used for noise suppression. It acts as a lever and as a handle for cocking.
Should I use cleaning pellets in my Stoeger X20 Suppressor rifle?
No. Firstly, cleaning pellets are not the best way to clean an airgun barrel, and secondly, cleaning pellets can become lodged in the suppressor baffles and create a barrel obstruction. We recommend using a Bore Cleaning Rope to clean your airgun barrel, which can be ordered through any of our Stoeger Airgun dealers.
Maintenance
Is there recommend maintenance for the stock?
Yes. The screws in the stock can become loose after the act of many firings. Failure to maintain the screws can result in cracking or complete damage of the stock.
Do I have to pass a cleaning rod through the bore of my rifle before using it?
Yes. It is recommended that you pass a cleaning rod through the bore to make sure it is free of obstructions before loading or firing your airgun.
Where should I oil a Stoeger Airguns rifle?
After every 1,000 shots, apply a drop of gun lubricant into the compression chamber.
Should I always clean my rifle before storing?
Yes. It is recommended to clean and lubricate the external metal parts to avoid corrosion.
Can I store my rifle in the cocked position?
You should NEVER store your airgun in the cocked position. It can be potentially dangerous and can weaken the mainspring. Airguns are not toys. After use and before putting the airgun away, always make absolutely sure there are no pellets in the chamber. Airguns should be stored in a manner that protects against unauthorized usage.
What do I do if I need to remove an obstacle that has lodged inside the barrel of my rifle?
First, make sure the safety is ON and barrel is pointing in a safe direction. NEVER attempt to clear stuck ammunition by firing an additional pellet through the gun. Break the barrel down the same as in loading, and insert a cleaning rod of the appropriate caliber for your rifle into the breech opening of the barrel. Push the rod through the barrel until the pellet is free. When you are finished, clean the barrel with a brush attachment of the cleaning rod to remove any lead particles that may be adhered to the rifling.
Should I use cleaning pellets in my Stoeger X20 Suppressor rifle?

Mechanism
What could be wrong if I have chronographed the speed of my rifle and it is not at the velocity it should be?
Many conditions can and will affect the results, including, but not limited to, pellet weight, design, barrel condition, ambient temperature and elevation. These can vary your results by more than 10%.
Can the Stoeger Airgun rifles be dry fired?
No, spring piston air rifles should not be dry fired. This may cause damage to your rifle.
How many times does a Stoeger Airgun rifle need to be cocked?
All Stoeger Airgun rifles require to be cocked only once.
What is the break-in time for a Stoeger Airgun rifle?
Stoeger Airgun rifles do not require a break-in time.
Sights
Can my Stoeger Airgun rifle's rear sight be adjusted for windage and elevation?
Your Stoeger Airgun air rifle has a rear sight, which is adjustable for windage and elevation. The rear sight is a notch and the front sight is a post. To adjust for windage, see diagram in your manual.
What are the benefits of the fiber-optic sight?
The contrasting fiber colors of the front and rear sight help make sighting quick and accurate in any light condition.
Regulations
Can I travel to different states with my airgun?
Always check with local law enforcement officials regarding local laws when removing your air rifle from your home.
Are airguns loud?
Yes, airguns can be very loud. When used with the alloy ammunition you will be breaking the sound barrier, resulting in a loud crack.
Safety
Should I use hearing and eye protection when firing my airgun?
Yes. It is recommended to always use eye and ear protection when firing your gun.
Can I modify my rifle?
No. NEVER modify your rifle. It could be dangerous.
Can I take my rifle apart and try to repair it myself?
No. NEVER take your rifle apart. It could be dangerous. For repairs, check your manual or call (301) 283-6300.
Can I store my rifle loaded?
No. You should NEVER store any airgun loaded. Airguns are not toys. After use and before putting your airgun away, always make absolutely sure there are no pellets in the chamber. Airguns should be stored in such a manner to protect against unauthorized use.
